This beaded pipe bag comes from the Xhosa people of the Eastern Cape in South Africa and dates to the early 20th century. It was used by both men and women to carry pipes and tobacco.

The bag is decorated with a clear diamond pattern made from red, white, black, and blue glass beads.

The inside and handle are made of cotton cloth.
