Traditional Bali Kamasan painting depicting Sita's ordeal by fire from the Ramayana. In the center sits the god Brahma, with Sita at his feet undergoing the trial by fire. To the left are Rama and Lesmana, while the bird Jatayu appears in the upper left corner.
The painting also shows the army of monkeys, including the white monkey Hanuman, who appears several times in the scene. At the right are the popular clown-servant figures Twalen and Merdah, characters often included in Balinese storytelling traditions.
