This traditional Sentani drum comes from the West Papua region of Indonesia and was collected around 1960. It is made from wood, bark strips and animal skin. The drum features a typical spiral pattern in Sentani art, highlighted with green paint and white lime. These patterns are both decorative and symbolic.

The drum is in good condition, showing only minor signs of age.
