This is a Kuriding, a traditional Dayak mouth harp (Jew's harp) from the Barito River region in South Kalimantan, Borneo, Indonesia. It is made of bamboo and showing residues of wax,.It was used by both men and women in music, rituals, and daily life.
Dating from the early 20th century, this piece comes from a private collection and is in good condition. It is part of the rich tradition known as Harpa Mulut Nusantara (Mouth Harps of Indonesia).
