This traditional women’s skirt, known as Bidang or Kain Kebat, was handwoven in cotton using the warp ikat technique by the Iban people of Kalimantan, Borneo.
The geometric pattern is characteristic of Iban design and is closely related to motifs found on Iban plaited mats and baskets.
