Traditional Balinese painting depicting the Hindu Metatah (teeth filing) ceremony, an important rite of passage marking the transition to adulthood. The scene shows a priest filing the teeth of a young woman during the ceremony. Thirteen women give presents and offerings.

Painted on cotton and dating to the mid-20th century, the work illustrates an important aspect of Balinese religious and cultural life.
