Five sago beating stones from West Papua . They were used in the traditional processing of sago, a staple food in many Papuan communities. The stones were attached to wooden beaters and used to pound the pith of the sago palm to extract starch.
The stones show natural colors of green, brown, and yellow and have concave and conical shapes.
