A beautifully woven Dayak basket from Central Borneo (Kalimantan), crafted from rattan and pandanus leaf. This traditional basket, complete with its original lid, shows the fine craftsmanship and strong sense of design typical of the Dayak people of Borneo
The Dayak tribes of Borneo are well known for their exceptional weaving traditions. Baskets like this were used for storing valuables, or ritual items, and are made entirely from natural forest materials. The condition is very good.
